This is the long-time staple of soft tissue work. It has been regularly employed by fitness coaches and physiotherapists for decades. Although the classic ‘foam’ roller can be slightly more comfortable when you first begin rolling, they have a generally shorter lifespan. The Moballise Team favour the more modern padded, hollow plastic tube style of roller. They work brilliantly on the longer, more exposed muscles of the body such as the thighs, shoulders, arms, and calves. They are also brilliant for mobilising your joints. Specific techniques are employed to mobilise joints throughout the spine and can also be cleverly used to mobilise the larger joints of your peripheral skeleton. Rollers are also employed with other tools to perform the more complex mobilisation with movement (MWM) techniques.
